Buy clothes responsibly
We raise awareness of the problems associated with clothing and textile industry among people interested in fashion, both as designers and consumers. We draw attention to social and environmental abuses related to the production of clothes we wear everyday. We also promote positive alternatives to the conventional, global brands. We show how to stand up against the violations of human rights, workers' rights and continuing pollution of the environment. We advise on how to encourage manufacturers to implement equitable policies that are beneficial both to employees and consumers. We promote responsible fashion that supports human rights, the principles of Fair Trade and recycling. We help producers to find out how they can manufacture clothes responsibly.
The project is part of the European „ WearFair” campaign that we run in cooperation with NGOs from Austria and Germany. Thanks to the European dimension of the project we can learn from the experience of countries where responsible fashion has been of public interest for many years. The knowledge we're gaining is intended to serve the recipients of the project, that's you!
We strongly believe that programmes like this, which are aimed at bringing consumers and producers closer together, can change the current situation in which the production of clothes is subsidised by the tears, sweat and blood of people from the South.

Buy toys responsibly
We draw attention to the problems associated with the toy industry and spread information about the human rights abuses associated with the production of toys in developing countries (mainly in China). We show consumers how they can oppose human rights violations and the low quality of products that comes with their low price. We advise on how to persuade toy manufacturers to apply fair practices that are beneficial both to the workers and the recipients of toys. We also promote local, ecological production, as well as traditional national and exotic Fair
Trade craft.
The project is a part of a European "Stop Toying Around" campaign, which is a joint initiative of NGOs from Austria, Czech Republic, France, Poland and Romania. Its aim is to rise of individuals and media about the issues related to toy industry, to involve politicians and engage in dialogue with the manufacturers of toys in order to improve the working conditions of the Chinese workers of this industry.
The project is primarily targeted at young parents and those working with children, but we believe that its message should be of concern to anybody purchasing gifts for children. Manufacturers and retailers of toys play a special role, so we ask for their cooperation in order to improve the situation. We are convinced that no child wants to play with toys that are produced in violation of human and workers rights.

FEED THE WORLD Campaign for food sovereignty and sustainable agriculture
This campaign aims to raise social awareness of the causes of world hunger. It also promotes the principles of food sovereignty and sustainable agriculture as an effective means of combating this problem. We encourage Polish consumers and food producers to reflect on the impact of agricultural production methods and consumption on hunger in countries of the Global South. We encourage consumers to alter their behaviour and attitudes toward the development of sustainable production and consumption of food, both in Poland and abroad. We help people in our country realize that sustainable agriculture, buying local food and conscious consumption bring economic and social benefits, protect the environment and have a real impact on improving the situation of the poorest countries.
Our activities contribute to Millennium Development Goal No. 1, in which the international community, including Poland, have committed to reduce the number of people suffering from hunger in the world by 2015.

Buy wood and paper responsibly
We draw attention to social and environmental problems related to forestry and wood and paper industry in Poland and worldwide by offering a range of available solutions. The project is directed to primary school and high school students and teachers, as well as consumers, and it shows that responsible production and consumption of wood-sourced products, such as furniture, floor fittings, windows and paper, are necessary to preserve the current forest resources for the present and future generations. We provide ways of counteracting the ongoing devastation of the environment, the violation of rights of the indigenous peoples and local inhabitants of forest areas. We provide tips on how to choose environmentally friendly wood and paper which are produced in a socially responsible way, from recycled materials and according to Fair Trade principles. We also advice producers who wish to manufacture such products on how to get started.
The project will include:
• publication of a multimedia educational kit for primary school and high school teachers to help them introduce the topic of responsible forestry in class
• 240 hours of informative and motivating lessons in 120 primary schools and high school across Poland
• mini-project competitions aimed at activating local school environments
• international youth exchange
• training sessions for teachers
• multimedia, interactive educational exhibition in three cities
• media campaign
• forest-themed film festival
• a good shopping guide ('Dobre zakupy') for wood and paper
• international conference summarising the project
The project is a part of a wider European campaign which we co-run with NGOs from Italy, Romania, Spain and Malta. Its regional partners in Poland are the member organisations of Polska Zielona Sieć, Stowarzyszenie „Eko-Inicjatywa” from Kwidzyń and NEPCon from Kraków.

3R Academy teaches and entertains
3R Academy is a pilot programme that includes 180 classes of school-children in the 10 provinces in which there are member-organizations of the Polish Green Network. The pupils learn to identify the marketing tricks that make us buy more than we need.
The students learn also how to re-use „single use” products and revise what they know about waste segregation.
As well as gaining this valuable knowledge, the young consumers are being given the opportunity to mobilise their local community. They can conduct interviews at school, at home and in local shops, to make others more aware of problems associated with waste.
They are also learnt ho to change their own habits by taking small steps. For example, they may bring their own mug to school, buy sustainably packaged products in the school shop or carry a re-usable shopping bag. To further motivate the pupils participating in the pilot programme, a two-stage (regional and national) competition with attractive prizes has been developed, to motivate classes to promote the idea of 3R Academy.
Download our materials
To facilitate the implementation of the project we have developed educational materials consisting of an Educational Package folder and 3 boards: REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE. The folders were provided to teachers during an induction training in September 2009 for teachers responsible for cooperation with our regional coordinators and educators. The boards will be provided to every class included in the year-round 3R Academy project.
The full content of the educational package is available in the section: Materiały ( Downloads).
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the content of the package and to get in touch.
What every young consumer should know
This was a project undertaken in 2006 - 2007 in cooperation and with the support of the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection. The campaign was targeted at children and teenagers aged 10 to 19.
The young people we worked with gained knowledge and practical skills relating to their rights and obligations as consumers. The kids have learned what it means to be a consumer, how to avoid being cheated in a shop, bank or while buying things over the Internet, what a complaint or a warranty is, and how to shop consciously and rationally, not being influenced by advertising.
The project was implemented in 16 provinces of Poland, where we taught around 14,000 students. The sessions were conducted in 480 primary and secondary schools.
All children from participating schools could also take part in
a 3-stage art competition.
