We raise awareness of the problems associated with clothing and textile industry among people interested in fashion, both as designers and consumers. We draw attention to social and environmental abuses related to the production of clothes we wear everyday. We also promote positive alternatives to the conventional, global brands. We show how to stand up against the violations of human rights, workers' rights and continuing pollution of the environment. We advise on how to encourage manufacturers to implement equitable policies that are beneficial both to employees and consumers. We promote responsible fashion that supports human rights, the principles of Fair Trade and recycling. We help producers to find out how they can manufacture clothes responsibly.

 

The project is part of the European „WearFair” campaign that we run in cooperation with NGOs from Austria and Germany. Thanks to the European dimension of the project we can learn from the experience of countries where responsible fashion has been of public interest for many years. The knowledge we're gaining is intended to serve the recipients of the project, that's you!

 

We strongly believe that programmes like this, which are aimed at bringing consumers and producers closer together, can change the current situation in which the production of clothes is subsidised by the tears, sweat and blood of people from the South.

 

Under the tab "Dowloads" there will soon be a guide-book available, that will provide a simple and clear introduction to the subject of responsible fashion. We are currently developing its contents. You can also take a look at articles in our resources describing the situation of workers in clothes factories and farmers producing cotton or flax. There is also information regarding certification systems, multilateral initiatives and much more. This database is constantly being expanded, so watch this space.

 

We're also preparing a "good shopping guide" which will present positive examples of companies that have chosen to practice responsible fashion!

If you would like to help us organise promotional events, please get in touch. We are planning to organise several events that consumers can take part in to express their support for the workers in the clothing industry. We believe that such direct actions can have an impact on the politics of global brands and can make them start to respect their workers and the environment!

 

This invitation is also addressed to fashion designers, retailers, fashion design and production teachers, consumer organisations and anybody interested in CSR issues. It is for you that we will prepare training courses and meetings, to provide an opportunity to share our knowledge and experiences. For you we will organise the first Responsible Fashion Fair in Poland in 2012!
